The Pole Dancing Academy, near Poole in Dorset, teaches the latest fitness craze to hit Dorset - Pole Exercise and it's run by Steph Bates who has been teaching fitness and exercise for many years.
Here at the Pole Dancing Academy we only teach private individual lessons although you can share with a friend if you'd like to.
If you're fed up with the gym try pole exercise.
There is no pressure to book lessons weekly. Come once a fortnight or even once a month.
These are private one to one lessons (or you can bring a friend and split the cost) - no groups of strangers.
Take it at your own pace, you can take it easy or really push yourself. It's your body, your time, at your pace.
Pole exercise is suitable for all ages from 16 - 98 so don't let your age stop you.
Pole exercise tones your muscles (in the legs, bum, arms and abs), burns calories and makes you look and feel great! It's a great cardiovascular workout.

These lessons are for anyone who wants to get fit and have a bit of fun.
No heels or hotpants, this workout is based on improving Fitness and Strength - and if you don't have either let us build it for you!

Who can learn?
Here at the Pole Dancing Academy we teach any size and shape, whether you're tall, short, small, bigger, young or old, you can get fit with pole exercise.
What will I learn?
You'll start by learning how to hold the pole and lifting off the floor. More difficult moves will be introduced as you become more confident. These pole exercise lessons are similar to any other fitness class - including warm up and cool down stretches with enough time left to master basic pole moves.

Private Lessons
These lessons are 30 minute private individual lessons (longer lessons can be arranged) but two people can be taught if you'd like to bring a friend along.
You don't need to worry about keeping up with the class or about the class going too slow for you - you can go at your own pace.
Lessons are available any day of the week from 6.30 am - 11pm.
If you'd like to pay each time for a lesson the fee is £12 for 30 mins (works out at £6.00 each if two friends share)
Or you can pay in advance (at end of first lesson) for a 5 lesson course which will cost you only £49 for 5 x 30 minute lessons.
These lessons can be weekly or if you'd like a intense course take them all in one week!!

Just wear something comfortable, such as jogging trousers, shorts and a t-shirt.
Trainers are great, as are bare feet.
Some moves will require your legs to touch the pole so you can easily roll up your trousers if you'd prefer not to wear shorts.
This is purely an exercise class - no stripping takes place!
Where are the lessons?
Classes at the Pole Dancing Academy are held in my Corfe Mullen studio (between Poole and Bournemouth) any day of the week from 6.30 am - 10 pm but if you can only manage earlier or later please ask.
Do I need to be very strong?
Any one can do pole exercise and it will help improve your upper body strength. However if you would like to help it along why not book a 15 minute weight session before your pole lesson for only an extra £2.50 per person.
This session will include simultaneous dumb bell curves, latereal lifts and front arm raise.
Please mention when booking if you'd like the extra 15 mins.
Don't worry though, plenty of pole exercise can be done without any weight training.
The pole is strong enough for body weights of up to 16 stone.
